We had 65 guests join us from all over the world, and we wanted to show them the time of their lives.
It was very important that we balance between gay friendly properties AND family/child friendly properties (which can be a challenge). With the help of the fantastically talented Kim Short, we were able to narrow down our choices and ultimately landed on Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. We can honestly say, without hesitation, that our wedding day was the best day of our lives, by far! Our dream destination wedding took place on a gorgeous beach of Cancun. The weather was gorgeous, the music didn't stop and the superior company was what made our day...we couldn't have asked for a better party! The day flew by so quickly, it was an absolute pleasure to relive it through the photographs we received. Priceless memories captured forever!

The Hard Rock Hotel was perfect;  we had a blast!!!  The food was delicious; the people were so hospitable; and the hotel was absolutely beautiful.  Our guests really  enjoyed themselves and everyone was sad to go!  We were very pleased with the staff's professionalism and eagerness to make us happy on our special day.

We couldn't be happier after being back from our wedding. Everything was absolutely perfect at the resort and all of our guests had so much fun. We can't thank our Specialist enough for all of her help! Our guests that booked with Eve had a much easier time with transportation and really felt taken care of.

Our wedding specialist knew all the right vendors and put us in touch with White Orchid Weddings. Between the two, they were able to give us suggestions on locations that worked best for everything from the ceremony, to photography to meals.

Our wedding specialist also had stayed in every single hotel that we were considering and could give first-hand info on each property and why or why not to stay there. She also contacted the property personally to make sure they were aware it was our honeymoon, which made a big difference. A couple of our friends ended up staying at the same property, the same week, for their honeymoon, but their agent did not inform the property of the occasion and they really missed out on some of the over-and-above touches the management and staff took care of to make our stay as perfect as possible.

We couldn’t have been happier. Everyone who sees the photos of how the event turned out is absolutely stunned. It was picture perfect in every way and the stories that we brought back are memories for a lifetime.

Looking for a place that would cater to a lesbian wedding was an extremely difficult and frustrating process. On a whim, I decided to type a google search for “gay wedding” and the site GayDestinationWeddings.com was populated. I was leery of the initial $50 deposit, so I contacted the company on Facebook to ask some questions. After speaking with the representative, I decided that it was worth a shot. Less than two days later, I was contacted by my Wedding Specialist, Christine, who ended up being the most amazing resource. She provided us with countries, venues, days, times and so much more. She was spot-on with everything that we questioned, and if she did not have the answer, she got it to us within a couple of days. 

My wife and I picked Cabo San Lucas as our destination wedding location, and with that decision, Christine introduced us to Lupita and the fantastic staff at Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos. I must say that Lupita was also phenomenal.  She was extremely organized and did not let us drop the ball on anything. She took our ideas and pictures and made them come to life.  The venue was stunning, the staff was outstanding, and our day was nothing short of perfection. My only sadness is that the event had to come to an end, as I want more than anything to relive this special day all over again.  Kudos to our wedding team and thank you, GayDestinationWeddings.com, for helping to make our dream wedding a reality!

The overall experience working with GayDestinationWeddings.com was fantastic! Robert proposed to Michael in Dubrovnik, Croatia, so we knew it was going to be hard to top our engagement story; however, we succeeded.

Let's start by introducing ourselves. We have been together for eight years and live in Denver, Colorado. We are what you can describe as any normal gay couple. We love to travel and entertain our friends at our home. Until a few years ago, we never thought the idea of getting married would be possible. Our thoughts changed however, when we started attending more Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and One Colorado events. There, we met other gay couples who were married and realized that gay marriage is not just a pipe-dream but an inevitable progression in our society. Everyone deserves love and deserves the opportunity to express their love through marriage. 

When we first started planning our wedding we realized we wanted something different. Let's face it, two guys getting married isn't what one would call conventional. After attending a friend’s destination wedding, we realized that this was the type of event that we wanted for our own. We noticed there was an ease of planning and lack of stress that came along with a destination wedding. That's when we contacted GayDestinationWeddings.com and were connected with Donna, our very own Destination Wedding Specialist. Donna was incredibly helpful when it came to planning our, once in a lifetime, event. We were concerned about a destination wedding after reading many reviews about hotels and venues that said they were LGBT-friendly but were not. Donna recommended several locations/venues that she knew were LGBT-friendly. This was something that was very important to us. We felt very secure in our selection of hotel and venue after working with Donna. She shared wonderful insight, showed great attention to detail, and possessed strong communication skills.

We decided to get married May 3, 2014 at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Resort and Spa in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The whole experience was nothing more than magical, it is certainly hard to put how we felt into words. We were lucky enough to have around 40 guests that traveled to attend our wedding. Each of our friends have expressed how much fun they had and what a great venue we had selected. On Friday night, with the assistance of the Hotel, we rented a private ship to take our guests around the Cabo San Lucas bay. This definitely set the tone for our entire wedding weekend. The ship was excellent! The food, alcohol, and music were incredible. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and we only had a few guests get sea sick, “We are from Colorado, don't do much boating”.

The wedding was the following day at sunset on the beach. As untraditional as it was, we spent the whole day together. We checked in on our guests, relaxed and finally wrote our vows. We wrote our vows overlooking the ocean on the hotel veranda. This was the perfect place to write and share memories during the last few minutes before we started a new chapter together.

The ceremony felt like something fantasies are made of. Michael's brother officiated the wedding and both of us grooms fought hard to hold back the tears but did not succeed. After the service, the whole wedding party received a sand dollar to make a wish or blessing for the couple and tossed them into the ocean. The night continued with cocktails, dinner and dancing. We could go on and on about how great the service was. Our guest never had an empty glass of champagne, the food was delicious, and the DJ turned our reception into the BEST dance party ever (and that is saying something coming from us)! There were a few who tried to crash the wedding celebration and many onlookers. We were fortunate enough to be able to stay for a few days following our wedding. We kept hearing stories about the "great beach wedding on Saturday night". Our wedding was the talk of the resort.

GayDestinationWeddings.com helped coordinate such an important day in both of our lives. We truly could not be happier with the service and professionalism Donna provided. The most important part of our wedding however, was that we were married. The icing on the cake was that we celebrated this important day surrounded by our closest family and friends.

We met back in 2009 through field hockey and from the first time that Becca suggested we go get ice cream, it was an immediate connection! In 2012, Becca made me the happiest I could ever be when she joyfully accepted my proposal in front of the Eiffel Tower. From that point forward, we had a blast planning what we hoped would be an unforgettable experience, and unforgettable it was.

After spending many long hours researching destination wedding locations that would embrace our love, we came across the El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We were referred to our Wedding Specialist, Becki, and everything seemed to fall into place. She guided us with professionalism, class, and she embraced us and our dream for our perfect wedding day. She organized travel and arrangements for all of our 78 guests and answered ALL of our questions with pleasure. 

When we arrived in Cancun, two wedding dresses and 3 large suitcases in tow (yes, we brought the majority of our decorations!), we were extremely relieved to know that our transportation arrangements set up through Becki were waiting for us. We were greeted by hotel staff and taken to a special concierge area, separate from all the other guests in the lobby. This trend of special, personalized treatment continued throughout our stay. The best part is, this hospitality was extended to our 78 wedding guests as well! 

Every detail arranged prior to our arrival and all of our requests while staying at the resort were honored. Not only were the details made a priority, but the on-site wedding and resort staff were genuine, kind and eager to assist us. The food, entertainment (we had a donkey and mariachi band!), and officiant were superior and exceeded our expectations.

We met over seven years ago at a Starbucks in Manhattan while Angel was attending college at New York University. We fell in love quickly and deeply and knew we would be together forever.

When we decided to get married we were very excited but also apprehensive. We wanted to have a party where we could celebrate our love with our family and friends, but we didn't want to have to refinance our house to do it! Besides the price of venues, we were having a hard time finding a place that went with our personality. We got discouraged and nearly decided to go to City Hall to get married and grab a hotdog at a street cart after!

Even though we wanted a destination wedding, we wanted a place that would welcome, accept us and make us feel comfortable as a same-sex couple. She helped us pick a resort and helped everyone on our guest list book accommodations. Working with Judy, we chose to have our wedding at Paradisus Cancun.

Throughout the planning process, we were a little nervous because we couldn't see the resort first-hand, but we took Judy's recommendations and we are so very happy we did! She got us in contact with the on-site coordinator at Paradisus who was also amazing. They helped us have the beautiful wedding of our dreams and the best part was that it was all in our budget!

The Paradisus was amazing! They made us feel so welcome, and everyone that came to our wedding was amazed at how caring, kind and attentive the staff was. Our wedding was beautiful. It was exactly what we wanted. The pictures were AMAZING! Besides all of that, the food and drinks were delicious, which was very important to us. We had a great time and are so happy that we did it!

I know I may be partial, but this was the best wedding I have ever been to. Destination weddings are the way to go and with the help of gaydestinationweddings.com our wedding dreams came true! We wish we were still in Mexico right now!

We were so excited to find this website and know that we would find a location that has done same sex weddings. We wanted it to be easy, special, and the day we have always wanted. We were so lucky that it turned out to be the day and vacation of our dreams!

It was so easy when we arrived in Cancun. Our wedding day began started out beautifully. We were able to get a massage and our hair done. Our location was perfect with 20 of our closest friends and family.  The ceremony was amazing, and we finished the night with great food and a fun reception.

We would do it all over again in a heartbeat and hope to visit on our one year anniversary!

The experience was perfect! We couldn't have dreamed the organization of the event to be better. We enjoyed every minute. It was really magical. We are so happy we did it, and we wouldn't have changed anything.
